c1920s Appliquéd Tulle Cushion Cover (TT11)

A wonderfully sophisticated boudoir item from the 1920's. This is a large cushion cover made from a soft and floppy tulle net of jet black. The edges are finished with a deep double flange, stitched in place with olive green chain stitch. The front is decorated with a stunning rose fabric carefully appliquéd in place, also with chain stitches. It has a simple side opening for inserting a cushion pad. It would require one approx: 18" to 20" square. A beautiful old textile, in good condition for its age. Measures approx: 54cm x 59cm.
Beautiful appliqué work creates a square design to the front of the cover. 
Double flange edging for added interest.
